I’ve been thinking a lot about excitement lately.
As humans, we like to generate problems for ourselves.
Even when things are objectively going well: projects flowing, clients happy, your needs are met...
We will still find a way to self-sabotage and create hardships for ourselves.
I’ve noticed this isn’t about losing passion. It’s about being human.
Every founder, creator, or high performer I know hits these dips.
Hormozi calls it the “valley of despair”...
that place where we're past a peak and between the next big win.
Every time I feel like I start to lose energy around my business or I feel like work is a "have-to" I know I need to do one of the following things:
#1 Change The Environment
When your energy feels stuck, move.
Physically. Mentally. Even digitally. This week I’ve been switching up my work spots... different desks, a new Panera, and a few different places around the house. It blows my mind how much of a difference this can actually make. Highly recommend.
#2 Do Something Different (within what you already do)
A new favorite: Just a new flavor of what you’re already doing. Example: this week I tested a new browser called Perplexity Comet. It changed how I worked, gave me a little new "shiny object" dopamineI've been enjoying
#3 SHARE.
This one’s underrated. When you work solo or in a small team, it’s easy to move from one project to the next without recognizing your own progress. Sharing what you’re working on isn’t bragging. It helps you see the impact of your work and invites energy back into it. I seriously cannot recommend this enough. Give yourself the credit you deserve.
